Abhi's English Academy exists to help VCE English students perform at their best. Our aim is English Excellence, with graduates reaching a 40+ study score.
Meet Abhi
Abhinandan Chandran founded Abhi's English Academy on a simple belief: VCE English success comes down to knowing exactly what examiners reward, then practising it consistently under real feedback, not cramming in the final weeks before a SAC.
Abhi graduated from Nossal High School, a selective-entry school, in 2024, achieving a raw study score of 47 in English and an ATAR of 99.05, placing him in the top 2% of the state. He is currently studying Law and Commerce at Monash University.
But he wasn't always an "English kid." Science and maths-oriented throughout school, Abhi scored only average marks in Year 11 English and seriously considered switching subjects altogether. What changed his results wasn't natural talent. It was finding repeatable, structured systems that worked. English went from a subject he endured to the one that boosted his ATAR the most.
That's exactly why he founded Abhi's English Academy: to show students that you don't need to be a natural writer to do well in VCE English. You just need to focus on the right areas. Abhi has been tutoring VCE English since the day he finished high school, and two years on, he still loves every part of it.
Today, Abhi is on a mission to build the most complete VCE English tutoring support available: structured content, personal feedback and real consistency, all in one place. The goal isn't just strong results for individual students. It's for Abhi's English Academy to become the benchmark other VCE English tutoring in Victoria is measured against.
Outside of tutoring, Abhi enjoys watching movies, playing soccer, and mentoring students.

Foundations of Content
We believe understanding how to approach each section (A, B and C) is extremely important. Every module/workshop prioritises this understanding, and how to implement it into step-by-step actions you can apply straight to your own schoolwork.
1:1 Specific Feedback
Specific feedback for each student is crucial to track progress. We set targeted goals every week, before each lesson, improving bit by bit rather than cramming the last two weeks before a SAC.
Consistency
Being consistent in English is one of the most important things, and where most students fall short. Scoring well means performing well across the entire year, not just before assessments.

- Module 1: Understanding the Text and Breaking Down Prompts. How to identify themes, authorial messages, tensions, and what the prompt is really asking.
- Module 2: Building a Strong Contention and Essay Plan. How to develop a nuanced argument rather than writing an obvious, generic contention.
- Module 3: Writing High-Quality Body Paragraphs. Topic sentences, evidence selection, analysis, and paragraph progression.
- Module 4: Developing Sophisticated Analysis. How to move beyond retelling and explain how and why the text creates meaning.
- Module 5: Writing Under SAC and Exam Conditions. Planning efficiently, managing time, editing, and avoiding common mistakes.
